For only the second time, a South Korean golfer has won on the PGA Tour. Y.E. Yang had another strong round on Sunday at the Honda Classic to stay atop the leaderboard and take home a cool million for his efforts. Although the money is nice, Yang claims that it is the 2-year exemption on the PGA Tour that is the real prize.
Yang shot a 2 under 68 to fight off attempts from John Rollins and Ben Crane, who went 3 and 2 under respectively in the final round. Yang could have put away all doubt on the 17th with a mere par, but missing the put, he was forced to par out on the 18th, a hole that had yielded birdies for both Rollins and Crane. Also making a strong showing, PGA newcomer Jeff Klauk went home with his best showing (4th) of what has been a great start to his PGA career.

The LPGA’s stop in Singapore had its fair share of excitement. Jiyai Shin followed up a 66 in the third round with another 66 in the fourth round to win the HBSC Women’s Champions event at the Tanah Merah Country Club. Shin finished 2 ahead of the second place, Katherine Hull (-9), who was the previous day’s leading lady.
Paula Creamer, who got lapped in the third round, falling to 5th from co-leading the first and second rounds; bounced back on Sunday to finish tied for 3rd (-8) with Angela Stanford (69-72-66-73) and first round co-leader, Angela Park. Lorena Ochoa finished at -7, tied at sixth with Jane Park and Sun Young Yoo.
