Daly Scratches Himself, Monty Sheds Longtime Caddie
The John Daly debacle gets more bizzare, as now Sherrie claims that Daly sexually assaulted her, then scratched himself before calling police to tell them she attacked him with a steak knife to cover up his crime.
Remember last week when I reminded y’all to not assume anything. People were quick to call out JD’s wife as some astronaut crazy diaper lady. Golf Channel commentators were sucking up to JD saying how tough it must’ve been for him to get through his round. Should Sherrie’s claims be true, it would make a lot of people look bad that’s for sure.
Obviously this story will continue twisting and turning over the next several months. And after which we will probably never know the real truth. As with many family tragedies like this, the kids are the ones that always suffer the most.
In other news, Colin Montgomerie, the game’s ultimate major championship choker has decided to can his off-again on-again and now off-again caddie just days before the start of the US Open. He says he will use a local caddie instead.
It’s just another example of Monty making the wrong decision at the wrong time. In 94, Monty went with a black shirt on a hot humid day on his Monday playoff and lost the US Open to Ernie Els. Last year at Winged Foot, Monty chunked a seven-iron and double-bogeyed 18 to finish a familiar second, despite the now unemployed Alastair McLean’s advice to go with the six-iron. And you wonder why Monty’s never won a major before…
