Golf, WSOP style

Throughout the history of golf, there has been many different formats of play in addition to the traditional tournament stroke play that we’re so familiar with including match-play, texas-scramble, the stableford system and it goes on and on from there.
In the world of the wacky, organizers of the inaugural World Series of Golf (WSOG) fused Texas Hold’em Poker with Golf to produce a betting style golf competition. I just finished reading the article and I still don’t really understand how the darn thing worked.
In any case, some joe from Newport, CA won the event. A day trader by the name of Mark Ewing that sports an 11 handicap in real golf beat the likes of Phil Ivey (flying in with his helicopter no less), Phil Gordon, Steve Danneman, Rhett Butler, and a bunch of other poker pros that have absolutely no revelance to golf. Get this, Ewing plans on laying $110K of his $250K take in a blackjack game, the betting never stops in Vegas I guess.
What’s even more unbelievable is that the yahoos at NBC are actually going to broacast this farse on June 23 and 24. Wow, how low can you go!!!
