Ogilvy Keeps Ahead By A Lot in Mercedes-Benz after Round Three
Geoff Ogilvy is certainly looking good to go four rounds and take the Mercedes-Benz at Kapalua, but the best thing about golf is that it can all be taken away from you so quickly.

Making moves up the leaderboard were 2008 late season dark horse Justin Leonard, the always fashionable Camillo Villegas, KJ Choi and Boo Weekley. There’s a bunch of guys huddled around 13 to 10 under, but Ogilvy pulled really far ahead with a 65 today. So far Ogilvy has gone 67, 68, 65, so it is safe to say the guy is en fuego.
By the way, did anyone else catch the post-round sit-down interview Boo did? He was really funny in that Larry the Cable Guy kinda way. I thought it was hilarious when his upcoming tournament in the Middle East came up. He said either “at least” or “i know” before “I don’t have to wear a turban.” Immediately, the announcer (cannot remember who, but I don’t think it was Faldo or the lady) ends the interview. You couldn’t have written it better.
Falling out of the top spots were 2003 winner Ernie Els, Sean O’Hair, and two-last-names Johnson Wagner. Ryuji Imada had the worst day of the top group, shooting a 74 and falling from fourth to 18th. Ouch. I rarely play him on my fantasy team anymore.
My predictions for Sunday…Kenny Perry and Davis Love could be seen as definite threats to Ogilvy and are playing strong and more importantly consistent for old guys (don’t get mad, I like the old guys winning on tour). Leonard could turn it on, but six shots is hard to make up. So unless Ogilvy has a complete meltdown and fudges up that cushion… well, he deserves to lose then.
