Hansen is all smiles following his win.

A selection of quotes from the past week of golf.

Rory Sabbatini after winning the three-way playoff to claim the Colonial,

“I told my wife, by the end of the year I’m going to be top 10 in the world rankings, and I’m not going to let anything stop me. My goal next year is to probably try to get to No. 1.”

Anders Hansen after winning the BMW,

Q. Have you missed the kids so much that you gave yourself a period of time in America and does it also make you think that maybe Europe is the place for you?

ANDERS HANSEN: Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. I’m not giving up America, not at all. I’ve only played ten events and I’m going to go back and try and at least play five more. So I want to get 15 in because when you commit to something, you’ve got to stick with it; you can’t just say, well, I’m going to bunk off now and I feel that’s how I’ve been told, you know, my parents always taught me, when you say yes to something, do you it. You don’t just stick your tails between your legs and go off if you don’t like it or if you’re not doing well or whatever. We’re going to go back and do the five more if I get a chance to.

Paula Creamer after finishing second at the Corning,

Q. How does the second-place finish today set you up for the remainder of your season?

PAULA CREAMER: Well, it’s good. Second is good at any tournament, you know, but obviously it’s not a win. I wanted a win. But, you know, I feel very confident. You know, I’m going to — my coach comes in next week, so hopefully I’ll work with him off the tee with my driver and see what’s happening with that. But, you know, I feel good. I feel good going into the Major. My putting has been really good. That’s something that’s kind of been my nemesis for a while until I switched my putters. Now I have a lot confidence in that, so we’ll see what happens but I do feel good.

Nick Price following his final round Sunday at the Senior PGA Championship,

Q. I just heard the comment you saying we had fun this week. Talk about the week overall.

NICK PRICE: Well, I tell you, it was just — apart from the strength of the wind the first two days, it was great. And I’m really happy. For a long time probably the last two years I haven’t been able to see any light at the end of the tunnel. And now there’s a nice bright glow there. And I’m really pleased with the way I played this week and I didn’t back off. I had a couple of poor shots at the end of the back nine or the front nine this morning, when we made the turn. But other than that, I kept going. And I’m happy. I could have won if I hadn’t made any mistake, but Denis, my hat’s off to him, he played pretty much flawlessly.

Ernie Els talks about the course modifcations at Wentworth,

Q. What sort of remarks do you get from the members, as opposed to the top players, about the alterations?

ERNIE ELS: They say they need a shovel. (Laughter) They need a shovel to go out on the golf course. No, listen, I think the members have taken it very well. You know, as I say, I think with such a big event, and we’ve got two here at the West Course, it needed to be updated, and the members agreed. You know, my plan here was to get the field, yeah, this week, in May and go to a U.S. Open from here and not feel like, you know, where the hell did this golf course come from. This golf course right here with the rough, with the bunkering, the way the greens are going to play, is not too far off from any kind of U.S. Open you’re going to play. And even at the Open Championship, I’ve been at — my love of links golf, you can see that has come back into the West Course. The bunkering on links courses, it gives you options, but also plays a couple of tricks with your mind if you miss shots. That’s kind of what I’ve incorporated into this update.
