Stricker Seeks First Win

Steve Stricker made the biggest move on moving day with a 6-under 65 to get to 14-under for the tournament and the outright lead at the Barclays in New York. KJ Choi led for most of Saturday, but Steve just kept knocking down shots and making putts.
Another man on the move was Hunter Mahan, he had another magical round to get to 12-under after shooting a 9-under 62, wow. Lets see if the Hunter can follow-up with a good round and not see it go to waste like he did a few weeks ago.
Then, there was Rich Beem. A promising round earlier in the week continued to a solid 69 on Saturday to stay within 2.
Yes, all the pressure is now on Steve. He’s had problems closing in the past so we’ll see if he can hold on. This is a tough field with someone likely to surge so Steve will need to shoot a 4 or 5-under to get to 18 or 19-under to win it I believe.

Stricker will blow it again, he had chances at the U.S. and British Open- My money’s on K.J. to win it, now he’s a great closer, he’ll win by a couple of shots easily.

Well, given that my fantasy pool contains Steve I am hoping he pulls it out.
But he’s had trouble holding the lead in the past, and with the soft conditions, he will need to shoot 4 under or so to win.
KJ would be a good choice to catch him…
